Will writing at home across Hampshire and Berkshire

Clarity for your family, in one comfortable visit.

Many people delay sorting a will for years. With us, you sit down over tea at home, share your wishes in everyday language, and the paperwork is handled from there. No office queues, no legal jargon, no hurry.

An estate planning adviser discussing documents with an older couple at their kitchen table

Most visits take around sixty minutes.

A single unhurried conversation is enough for most households. We draft and check everything once we leave.

You never need legal vocabulary.

Describe your family, property and priorities in your own words. Translating that into valid documents is our responsibility.

Your wishes can evolve over time.

Life moves on — marriages, grandchildren, new homes. We revise your documents simply whenever circumstances change.

What we write

Your affairs in order, explained plainly

Six core services cover the vast majority of families. If you are unsure where to begin, that is what the first conversation is for.

  1. 01

    Individual Wills

A carefully drafted will setting out who inherits what and who manages your estate. Prepared with you, reviewed thoroughly, and explained line by line.

  2. 02

    Paired Wills for Partners

Matching wills for couples who want aligned arrangements. Both completed during one home appointment, at the same table, with the same calm pace.

  3. 03

    Lasting Powers of Attorney

Nominate trusted people to support financial or health decisions should you ever be unable to make them yourself. A practical gift to those who care for you.

  4. 04

    Trust Arrangements

Where a straightforward trust protects property or supports a vulnerable beneficiary, we outline the choices clearly and recommend only what genuinely helps.

  5. 05

    Will Reviews and Revisions

Inherited a property? Welcomed a new family member? We review your current will, advise honestly on whether it still fits, and update it when needed.

  6. 06

    Secure Document Storage

Signed wills stored safely off-site, with a reference card for your wallet so relatives always know where the originals are kept.

What happens when we visit

Three straightforward steps to peace of mind

  1. 1

    An easy conversation at home

We visit at a time that suits you — morning, afternoon or evening. You describe your family, assets and intentions naturally. Clients often tell us it felt far less daunting than they imagined.

    Roughly one hour
  2. 2

We prepare and verify the documents

Your instructions become properly worded drafts back at our desk. We check every detail, then post copies for you to read in your own time. Questions are welcome until everything makes sense.

    Typically within five working days
  3. 3

    You sign with witnesses present

We return so you can sign correctly with two independent witnesses, as required by law. Afterwards, the kettle goes on — and a task postponed for years is finally complete.

Asked gently, answered clearly

Questions clients often raise at the start

There are no awkward queries when it comes to protecting your family. These are the topics we discuss most often, usually over a second cup of tea.

Must I have every decision ready before you arrive?

Not at all. Bring rough ideas and open questions — clarifying your thinking is a large part of what the visit is for. We guide you through the options without pressure.

Will the conversation feel heavy or upsetting?

In our experience, no. Appointments are warm and practical, focused on the people you care about. Most households leave feeling lighter rather than burdened.

Are you qualified solicitors?

We are specialist will writers, not a solicitors' practice, and we belong to a recognised professional body with full professional indemnity cover. If your circumstances require a solicitor, we say so directly and help you find one.

What if I already have an older will?

That puts you ahead of many. We study it with you, explain whether it still reflects your life today, and recommend updates only where they are genuinely worthwhile.

Kind words

Notes from households we have helped

We kept putting it off for nearly a decade. One Thursday afternoon at our dining table and it was sorted — we walked away wondering why we had waited so long.

Janet & Richard, both 71, Winchester

I almost cancelled twice because I assumed it would be gloomy. Instead it was a straightforward chat in my own kitchen, every clause explained without jargon, signed within ten days.

Claire, 58, Newbury

They visited after dinner to arrange lasting powers of attorney for my father. Patient, unhurried, and never made us feel silly for asking the same thing twice. Could not recommend them more warmly.

Book a friendly chat

Picking up the phone is the only hard part — and it is simple.

Call for an informal conversation, or complete the form and we will ring back when it suits. Home appointments available across Winchester, Newbury, Basingstoke and Reading, daytime or evening.
