What we do

Six services, handled with care

We do not try to be everything to everyone. We cover the accounting work small firms genuinely need — filed correctly, on schedule, every year.

  1. 01

    Self Assessment

Your personal return prepared, reviewed and submitted, with a written summary of what is owed and when — typically months ahead of the January deadline.

  2. 02

    Small Business Accounts

Year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, walked through with you in a single meeting that uses everyday language.

  3. 03

    VAT Returns

Quarterly VAT calculated and submitted through Making Tax Digital, with a reminder before each payment is due so nothing catches you off guard.

  4. 04

    Payroll

Wages processed on time, payslips issued, pensions managed and HMRC submissions completed. Payroll runs in the background without you chasing it.

  5. 05

    Bookkeeping

Up-to-date records maintained on your behalf, or a practical cloud setup so you can manage day-to-day entries with confidence.

  6. 06

    Tax Planning

An annual review before your year end to confirm you are in the right structure and claiming every allowance you are entitled to.

“If tax letters make you put off opening the post, you are the kind of business owner we built this practice around.”

How we work

Calm, organised, always ahead of deadlines

No unexplained jargon, no disappearing voicemails, no rotating trainee each spring. You work with one named adviser who understands your trade, responds within a working day and explains the why — not just the what.

Thinking of moving?

Changing accountants is our paperwork, not yours

Many owners stay with a firm they have outgrown because switching feels uncomfortable. It does not have to. You agree once; we manage the transition.

  1. 1

    We listen

A free, no-obligation conversation about your business, current fees and what is not working. You receive a written fixed quote within the week.

  2. 2

    We handle clearance

We write to your existing accountant with a standard professional clearance request and collect your records directly. No awkward phone calls for you.

  3. 3

    We take the reins

HMRC authorisations are transferred, deadlines are logged, and your first review is booked. Most handovers finish within a fortnight.

What clients say

“I spent four years dreading the January rush. Vale & Finch filed my return in September and told me the liability in plain figures months before it was due.”

Helen R., garden design, Basingstoke

“My first limited company year-end was explained page by page in language I could follow. No one had ever done that for me before.”

Marcus T., online retailer, Newbury

“Same monthly fee, payroll runs without me thinking about it, and when I call I speak to the person who actually prepares my accounts. Understated and excellent.”
